Simon Kinberg's directorial debut Dark Phoenix (2019) revisits the tragic descent of telepath Jean Grey into cosmic devastation. Anchored by Sophie Turner's fraught portrayal, a thunderous and otherworldly score by Hans Zimmer, and an exhilarating mutant skirmish aboard a moving military train, the film grapples with trauma and fractured family bonds.
