In Imperial Rome under Emperor Domitian, young Timo, an orphan of Pompeii's eruption, is raised in a famous gladiators' academy but has no desire to become a fighter. When he falls in love with the beautiful Lucilla, he sets out—with the help of the goddess Diana and an unlikely band of friends—to transform himself into the greatest gladiator of all time and win the Colosseum's first victory.
