Struggling songwriter Dave Seville takes in a trio of talking, singing chipmunks — mischievous leader Alvin, brainy Simon, and chubby, impressionable Theodore — after they lose their forest home. When Dave discovers their musical talent, he becomes their manager, but greedy JETT Records executive Ian Hawke's schemes threaten the chipmunks' newfound family. A live-action/CGI musical comedy, the first installment of the film series based on characters by Ross Bagdasarian Sr.
