James Mangold's Logan (2017) transcends the comic book genre to deliver a gritty, Shakespearean neo-western masterpiece. Hugh Jackman gives a career-defining, raw performance as an aging Wolverine facing physical decay and grief alongside an ailing Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart), finding redemption in protecting fierce young mutant Laura (Dafne Keen).
